John P. Horning, third-generation real estate professional and Vice President of Shorewest, REALTORS® was a Featured Leader in Real Trends in February. Featured in the article is John P. Horning’s journey into real estate and the growth of Shorewest.
“I started working for Wauwatosa Realty (now known as Shorewest, REALTORS®) in grade school, as I spent a summer microfilming files. After graduating from Notre Dame University with a degree in accounting, I spent about three years working for a company in Chicago. When an accounting position opened at Wauwatosa Realty, I had to interview for it,” John P. Horning said.
In 1997, Wauwatosa Realty had grown and had five offices in the Milwaukee area, outgrowing their name. The name Shorewest was chosen to reflect the area: from the shores of Lake Michigan to all points west. When John A. Horning, second-generation real estate professional, retired from Shorewest, REALTORS® in 2002, John P. Horning and his brother, Joe Horning, took over as President and Vice President.
“What makes Shorewest so special is our outstanding team that lives out our mission every day. Our goal is to work together to serve clients — as we care about each family that we serve,” said John P. Horning.
